BSHNI Vice-Chairman
- The Vice-Chairman of the BSHNI committee:
- Appointed for 2 years with expected succession to Chairman. Not eligible for re-election.
- Attends BSHNI committee meetings
- Supports the Chairman in his/her activities (see description of Chairman role).
- Deputises for Chairman when he/she is unable to attend meetings,eg annual SIG meeting.
- Is the committee member to whom tasks are most likely to be delegated by the Chairman.
- Also contributes to general BSHNI committee work
BSHNI Secretary
- The secretary is appointed for 2 years. Eligible for re-election.
- Supports the Chairman in his/her activities (see description of Chairman role).
- Attends BSHNI committee meetings
- Responsible for communications with society members (following committee discussion
- and usually issued by the Chairman)
- Primary coordinating role for the annual society meeting.
- Takes minutes for the Annual General Meeting, held at the BSHNI annual meeting.
- Takes minutes from interim BSHNI committee meetings
- Maintains membership database.
- Also contributes to general BSHNI committee work
BSHNI Treasurer
- The treasurer is appointed for 2 years. Eligible for re-election
- Attends BSHNI committee meetings
- The Treasurer’s primary responsibility on behalf of the society is to ensure that the society’s financial obligations are met
- This includes ensuring that all financial dealings are accounted for, grants are appropriately received and spent, and membership dues are collected
- The Treasurer should ensure that the society operates within current legal and financial guidelines
- The Treasurer should prepare an annual statement of the Society’s financial position to be presented at the AGM, held during the BSHNI annual meeting
- The Treasurer should monitor the appropriate disbursement of society funds as prizes or grants and ensure that sufficient funds are available to support all proposed projects
- Also contributes to general BSHNI committee work
BSHNI Training Adviser
- Appointed for 2 years.Eligible for re-election.
- The Training Adviser will work closely with the trainee representative of the BSHNI committee to:
- Maintain and update the database of trainees interested in Head and Neck Imaging.
- Serve as a point of contact within the Society for trainees seeking advice on training and career.
- Develop and maintain a database of higher training opportunities in the UK.
- Work with the RCR to provide Consultant workforce planning in Head & Neck Imaging.
- Take the lead in updating core and subspecialty Head & Neck curricula for the RCR when required.
- Organise and helps chair the Trainee Presentation sessions at the Annual Meeting.
- Attends BSHNI committee meetings
- Also contributes to general BSHNI committee work
Member at large (IT and website)
- This officer is appointed for 2 years. Eligible for re-election
- Attends BSHNI committee meetings
- Primary responsibility is the updating and management of the BSHNI website (as instructed by the Chairman).
- Advises on other IT aspects including communications with members.
- Also contributes to general BSHNI committee work
Member at large (Refresher course)
- This officer is appointed for 2 years. Eligible for re-election
- Attends BSHNI committee meetings
- Primary responsibility is the planning (in conjunction with BSHNI committee) and organisation of the BSHNI refresher course
- Also contributes to general BSHNI committee work
Trainee Representative
- This officer is appointed for 2 years. Eligible for re-election
- Attends BSHNI committee meetings
- Primary responsibility is updating and maintenance of the BSHNI Trainee Database
- Keeping trainees informed of upcoming meetings
- Liaise closely with the BSHNI Training Advisor
- Maintaining links with ENT Surgical trainees
- Also contributes to general BSHNI committee work
